Frequently Asked Questions

Can NDIS plan managers help with NDIA plan reviews?

While we don’t attend your NDIA planning meetings or write reports (that’s what Support Coordinators do), your NDIS plan manager in Melbourne can provide really valuable financial information when it’s time for your plan review. We can generate detailed reports showing exactly how you’ve used your funding, which supports have been most beneficial (from a spending perspective), and whether your budget allocation matches your actual needs. Many Melbourne participants find these reports helpful when requesting funding changes because they show concrete evidence. For example, if you’ve consistently run out of therapy funding halfway through your plan, our reports prove you need more. If you’ve got funding sitting unused because you couldn’t access supports, that’s documented too.
Plan managers and Support Coordinators do completely different jobs, though we often work together. Your plan manager handles money — paying your invoices, tracking your spending, providing budget reports, and making sure your funding is being used correctly. Your Support Coordinator helps with the non-financial stuff — finding providers, building your capacity, connecting you to community, and working towards your plan goals. You can have both (many Melbourne participants do), just one, or neither, depending on what’s funded in your plan and what support you need.
We handle this all the time — most participants work with several providers across different support categories. You might have a support worker, OT, physio, exercise physiologist, and community access provider all invoicing in the same week. We track each provider separately and allocate their invoices to the correct budget category in your plan. When everything comes in at once, we process it all within 24 hours and send you an updated budget report showing exactly where you stand in each category. This is actually where plan management really proves its worth — keeping track of multiple providers, multiple budgets, and multiple funding categories is complex.
